Occasionally thin client settings need to be reset in order to troubleshoot the following types of issues:
- Certain hardware configurations need to be reset, like dual monitors or screen resolution.
- SSL connection and certificate errors.
There are 2 ways to reset a thin client.
Method 1
- Power off the thin client by pressing and holding the power button (
) on the front of the device for at least 15 seconds until the light turns off.
- Power on the thin client by pressing the power button (
) again.
- As soon as you press the power button, start tapping the letter G on your keyboard over and over.
- The thin client will prompt that it is being reset, and will restart. You can stop tapping the letter G at this point.
- After the thin client restarts, you will be presented with the login screen.
Method 2
- Unplug the network cable from the back of your thin client.
- Click the Shutdown button (
) on the username/password screen.
- Select Restart the system, click OK, and allow the thin client to restart.
- If it gets stuck at Waiting for network link... press the CTRL+ESC keys to skip this step.
- Click the Shutdown button (
) on the username/password screen.
- Select Restart the system, and check Reset the system setting to factory default then click OK.
- The thin client will prompt that it is being reset and will restart.
- Plug the network cable back into the thin client.
- After the thin client restarts, you should be presented with the login screen.
